If you think this is cool, you should check out Tomo Fujita. I like the Pentatonic Equator approach, but it only covers two shapes. There are five shapes. So it's a good start, but don't think he's giving away the game here.

I’ve just started learning common chord progressions within C major and was trying to match them to songs I can play. Then I found your video. Perfect! Thank you. (my mistake was trying to find four-chord progressions straight off the bat. Starting with two-chord progressions made it easier to identify, learn and memorise the numbers.)

We have today many more options for sustain than Carlos had access to originally. One example, of many, is in the use of an Amp modeler, like the Fractal FM9 (just one of many examples), to use compression on the front end with some drive and then double the part (as would happen often in the studio) with two signal paths of slightly different delay each augmented by a stereo effect (an example would be a chorus effect) to produce, optionally, two stereo outputs left and right, with one panning and the other static. You can get some really huge impressive tones in stereo. You can also add an effects pedal to change volume or another effect. If the pedal is used for volume you don't need to adjust the guitar while playing like Carlos is doing, you can just use a pedal, although for a pedal it is probably best to play sitting down.

I never did care for Santa’s version.

The best version is by Peter Green. That’s the version I have always played.
